Dominion fabricated on-site the portable wicket concrete foundation to enable the exchange of a test match quality cricket pitch with rugby field turf, allowing both cricket and rugby to co-exist at the ground during the overlapping seasons. The foundation consists of a grid-work of ground beams to support the metal tray holding the cricket wicket.

The project required and achieved extremely high tolerances and was completed to a very tight programme of only 3 days. This enabled the first 5-day Test match to be played on the first portable wicket in the world.
