CHRISTCHURCH BOYS HIGH SCHOOL ASSEMBLY HALL

Dominion Constructors were the Main Contractor in charge of the Demolition of the Assembly Hall and Wilson Library within Christchurch Boy’s High School’s heritage campus.

Works were completed in a restrictive 12 week programme to be undertaken during the Students holiday period. With Stage 2, the removal of the foundations, was completed between Term 1 and Term 2.

3D laser scanning of the existing heritage panelling and Honour boards was required for removal and then reinstatement after the demolition was completed.

The building is adjoined to a heritage listed building and within a courtyard of several important school buildings making planning and communication critical to the success of the project.
