Dominion Constructors carried out a number of projects on this Auckland City landmark over the construction period, including

Formwork systems to the main entry level, comprising 10,500sq m of in-situ slab formwork and 240 beam formwork units.

Roof framing to 11,500sq m of roof areas, involving curved and flat roof together with upstands and parapets, all covered with treated plywood ready to receive membrane roofing.

Timber wall framing to the structure, the installation of fire-rated sub-linings, outer lining support battens and compressed sheet exterior sheathing.

Internal fit-out to 100 bedrooms over four floors to one of the Casino’s three hotel wings included timber framing, Gib board and Villaboard linings, paint and wallpaper finishes, ceramic floor and wall tiling and carpet floor coverings, all completed to the high standards required of a four-star hotel.

Specialist formwork contract to floors forming the Sky Tower Pod and concrete plug at the base of the mast. This contract proved very challenging considering the shapes that were required to form the floors were all circular and radiating from the main tower shaft.
