ORMISTON RD SENIOR SCHOOL

Ormiston Road Senior School is the first school in New Zealand to be constructed using the NZGBC ESD Commercial Works Tool, and was awarded 5 Star build status on the final structure. Dominion Constructors was appointed by Fletcher Construction as the main sub-contractor and awarded the concrete structure package, inclusive of specialist formwork and finishes.

The project comprises a two storey concrete column and beam structure with structural steel upper level infrastructure. The school is constructed around a quadrangle over a full basement structure with an overall footprint of 8750sq m.

A tight construction time frame of 13 months required working concisely as a team with Fletcher Construction and associated subcontractors.
